According to market sources, the arbitrage window between COMEX and LME copper remains open due to expectations surrounding U.S. tariff policies. Since January 2025, the United States has been continuously drawing copper cathodes from South America, Africa, and other regions. Industry insiders reveal that some leading overseas smelters and traders are negotiating the cancellation of certain long-term seaborne copper cathode contracts originally scheduled for delivery to China from late Q1 to early Q2.
