Chile's copper production in January fell 2.1% YoY to 426,889 mt.

On February 28, Chile's National Statistics Institute (ING) stated on Friday that Chile's copper production in January decreased by 2.1% YoY to 426,889 mt.

The decline in production was attributed by the institute to "lower processing fees and lower ore grades from importing companies."

State-owned Codelco's copper production in 2024 reached 1.328 million mt, showing a slight YoY increase as the company strives to rebound from the production lows of the past two years.
