Beijing (Gasgoo)- On February 26, the National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation Center (NEVC) signed a letter of intent for cooperation with Dongfeng Motor Corporation R&D Institute (Dongfeng Motor), and a strategic agreement with Xiangyang Da'an Automobile Test Center (Da’an Center). The collaborations will focus on comprehensive chip testing and laboratory-based cooperation, respectively.

The signing marks a deepened partnership in the fields of automotive chip evaluation and application. NEVC, Dongfeng Motor, and Da'an Center will work together on domestic automotive chip selection, evaluation, standards building, and quality management systems, as well as joint industry promotion and capacity building.

At the event, two joint laboratories were inaugurated, namely the "NEVC-Dongfeng Motor Automotive Chip Joint Evaluation Lab" and the "NEVC-Da'an Center Automotive Chip Testing and Verification Lab." These labs will serve as platforms for exploring cutting-edge automotive chip verification technologies.

This collaboration is expected to strengthen the competitiveness of the three parties in the automotive chip sector, advancing the development and global positioning of domestic automotive chips. NEVC, Dongfeng Motor, and Da'an Center will work closely to foster technological innovation and resource sharing, further contributing to the growth of China's new energy vehicle industry.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
