Beijing (Gasgoo)- On February 26, FAW Group's premium passenger vehicle brand Hongqi officially put the Tiangong 05, all-electric midsize sedan onto the market. The model is available in four variants, with a price range of 159,800 yuan-185,800 yuan.

As the first sedan in the Tiangong series, the new model retains key design elements from the Hongqi E009 concept car and features a battery-electric powertrain.

The exterior design closely follows the styling of the E009 concept, with a closed-off front grille, distinctive leaf-shaped headlights, and Hongqi's signature red emblem, giving it strong visual identity. The side profile adopts a sleek fastback silhouette with an upward-sweeping waistline. At the rear, the vehicle features L-shaped taillights, aligning with Hongqi's new energy vehicle design language.

In terms of dimensions, the Tiangong 05 measures 4,820mm in length, 1,915mm in width, and 1,480mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900mm.

Inside, the Tiangong 05 features Hongqi's latest interior design, replacing the traditional instrument panel with a 65-inch AR-HUD (augmented-reality head-up display), complemented by a floating central control screen for a minimalist, high-tech feel. Notably, the vehicle is equipped with the Hongqi Sinan intelligent driving system, featuring a 10V advanced vision solution that supports urban and highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) as well as full-scenario intelligent parking assistance.

Powering the sedan is an in-house developed high-efficiency electric drive system, delivering a maximum output of 210 kW and a top speed of 200 km/h. It offers two battery options: a 62 kWh and an 85 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack, providing CLTC ranges of 550 km and 750 km, respectively. Fast charging from 10% to 80% takes approximately 20 minutes.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
