Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On February 20 (local time), DENZA, the premium vehicle brand of BYD, officially entered the Malaysian automobile market, with its flagship model, the DENZA D9, launched at the same time.

The launch event took place at KL Base in Kuala Lumpur, a venue of symbolic significance. It was the same location where BYD debuted its brand and the ATTO 3 model in Malaysia in 2022. BYD stated that returning to this venue was not only a tribute to past achievements but also a testament to DENZA's commitment to luxury electric vehicle mobility, embarking on a new journey while staying true to its heritage.

DENZA was originally established in 2010 as a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz and is now a wholly-owned premium brand under BYD. Its product lineup spans SUVs, MPVs, and sedans.

Zhao Yue, General Manager of BYD Malaysia, highlighted the brand's expansion strategy, stating, "To better serve Malaysian consumers, our initial network of seven DENZA showrooms will cover Klang Valley, Malacca, and Johor. Moving forward, we will expand into Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Sarawak, Perak, and Pahang, ensuring a premium and seamless ownership experience for DENZA customers."

The DENZA D9 offers multiple exterior and interior color options tailored for Malaysian buyers. Its three exterior finishes include Haori White, symbolizing purity and modernity; Ningye Black, exuding depth and sophistication; and Xiangya Blue, embodying elegance and energy ("Haori", "Ningye", and "Xiangya" are called in Chinese Pinyin). Inside, the cabin is available in classic beige and brown color schemes, enhancing both luxury and visual appeal.

To cater to the diverse needs of Malaysian consumers, DENZA has introduced two variants of the D9 MPV: The DENZA D9 Advanced (2WD) is priced at RM 259,000 (approximately RMB 425,000), while the DENZA D9 Premium (4WD) is at RM 309,000 (approximately RMB 507,000).

In a major announcement at the end of the launch event, BYD introduced a cross-border warranty service for DENZA owners in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. This initiative aims to eliminate regional service barriers, providing seamless after-sales support for DENZA customers across the three countries.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
