Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC Trumpchi recently released official images of its upcoming M8 Qiankun Series, an MPV model co-developed with Huawei. The vehicle is set to offer cutting-edge intelligent features including high-level driver assistance and valet parking capabilities, with an official launch expected in the near future.

Based on the Trumpchi M8 Master series, the new model retains the signature 7-shaped headlights but adopts a trapezoidal grille with a 3D chrome-dot pattern, enhancing its refined aesthetics. A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor has been added to bolster the vehicle's intelligent driving capabilities.

On the side, the front fender features new decorative elements and an "PHEV" badge, indicating its plug-in hybrid powertrain. Additionally, the new multi-spoke wheels further elevate the model's premium appeal. The M8 Qiankun series is expected to come equipped with Huawei's latest HarmonyOS smart cockpit and the Qiankun ADS 3.0 intelligent driving system, delivering an enhanced driving experience.

While official power specifications remain undisclosed, industry observers predict the model will adopt a 2.0T plug-in hybrid system similar to that of the Trumpchi E9. The anticipated setup delivers 274kW of combined power and 630N·m of torque, with a battery-powered range of 136 km. Performance figures suggest an 8.8-second 0-100km/h acceleration time and a fuel consumption rate of 6.38L/100km when operating on depleted battery power.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
