SAIC Volkswagen debuts Teramont Pro SUV

On Feb. 17, SAIC Volkswagen introduced the Teramont Pro SUV, which is powered by the company's fifth-generation EA888 engine.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Feb. 17, SAIC Volkswagen introduced the Teramont Pro SUV, which is powered by the company's fifth-generation EA888 engine.

The Teramont Pro adopts a new design language, featuring a closed-off grille that is integrated with the headlights and black trims, creating a striking visual impact.

The side profile of the model incorporates hidden door handles, giving the overall design a smooth appearance.

The vehicle measures 5,158mm in length, 1,991mm in width, and 1,788mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,980mm.

Inside, the Teramont Pro offers a fully liquid crystal instrument cluster, a floating center console screen, and a passenger-side display screen. The model also includes a panoramic sunroof, a Harman Kardon audio system, and a 30-color ambient lighting system.

As for the smart driving feature, the Teramont Pro comes with Volkswagen Group's latest IQ. Pilot driver assistance system, supporting Level 2+ assisted driving functions, to better handle China's complex road conditions. The vehicle features the MOS 3.0 GP infotainment system that integrates DeepSeek's AI large model, providing a smart interaction experience.

Under the hood, the Teramont Pro is powered by Volkswagen's fifth-generation EA888 2.0T engine, which delivers a maximum power output of 200kW and a peak torque of 400Nm. The vehicle has a WLTC-rated fuel consumption of just 8.35L/100km and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.6 seconds. SAIC Volkswagen said this engine incorporates advanced technologies like a variable geometry turbocharger (VTG), a 500-bar ultra-high-pressure fuel system, and a full-range Miller cycle.

Additionally, the model comes equipped with a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission and the 4Motion intelligent all-wheel-drive system, enhancing the vehicle’s stability.
