Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Li Auto recently announced that its 800V pure electric SUVs, equipped with its self-developed silicon carbide power module and next-generation electric drive system, will officially enter mass production at a plant in Changzhou city, Jiangsu province, according to a post on the official WeChat account of Changzhou government.

As Li Auto's core manufacturing base, Changzhou has established a comprehensive production ecosystem encompassing electric drive R&D, motor production, and vehicle assembly. This integrated framework provides a solid foundation for delivering high-performance full-electric vehicles tailored for family users.

The company's self-developed silicon carbide power module is already in mass production at its semiconductor facility in Suzhou, while its Changzhou electric drive plant has completed the rollout of the next-generation electric drive assembly. These two key components work in close coordination with the company's in-house electric motor factory in Changzhou.

Li Auto's full-electric SUV manufacturing factory finding home in Changazhou city will further consolidate local supply chain resources, creating a vertically integrated closed-loop process from electric motor and power electronics production to vehicle assembly. This approach significantly enhances vehicle production efficiency and quality control.

In 2024, Li Auto delivered 500,508 vehicles, bringing its cumulative deliveries to 1,133,872 units as of December 31, 2024.

As production capacity continues to expand, the company is actively advancing its supply chain localization strategy. By 2026, it aims to source 70% of key components locally.

Last year, Li Auto invested an additional 1.6 billion yuan to upgrade and expand the Changzhou plant, renaming it "Jiangsu Li Auto." With this transformation, the company has restructured its R&D, manufacturing, and sales operations under a more unified and group-oriented business model.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
