China's major new vehicle launches in Feb., involving Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, Lynk & Co 900

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- February 2025 marks a surge in the automotive market, with over 20 new models already launched or expected to hit the market across both new energy and oil-fueled vehicle segments, including the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, the Lynk & Co 900, the 2025 BYD Yuan PLUS, and the BMW X3 Long-wheelbase edition. 

Launched models

Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i

On February 12, Geely Auto officially put the Galaxy L6 EM-i model onto the market, starting at 79,800 yuan.

The vehicle maintains similar design and dimensions as its predecessor. It measures 4,782mm in length, 1,875mm in width, and 1,489mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,752 mm. The interior features a new 14.6-inch central screen and a 10.2-inch liquid crystal instrument cluster.

Powering the Galaxy L6 EM-i is Geely's NordThor EM-i hybrid system, which comprises a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The engine delivers a maximum output of 82 kW and a peak torque of 136 N·m, while the electric motor produces a maximum output of 160 kW and a peak torque of 262 N·m.

Smart Driving editions of BYD Ocean Series' 11 vehicle models

On February 10, BYD's Ocean Series put the Smart Driving editions of its 11 vehicle models onto the market, involving the Seal 05 DM-i, the Seal 06 DM-i, the Song PLUS, the Dolphin, and the Seagull.

Among them, BYD said the Seagull Smart Driving edition is the industry's first A00-segment model to offer an advanced smart driving system, which has been brought into the 70,000-yuan price range for the first time. The vehicle comes with the DiLink 100 advanced smart cockpit and the God's Eye C system (DiPilot 100), which supports features like remote control, automated parking, and valet parking.

2025 DEEPAL S07, L07

On February 9, DEEPAL put the 2025 DEEPAL S07 model onto the market. The AD PRO version offers three variants, priced between 169,900 yuan and 174,900 yuan. The ADS SE edition is available in four trim levels, with prices ranging from 179,900 yuan to 197,900 yuan. The AD PRO version comes equipped with DEEPAL's AD PRO advanced driver assistant system, while the ADS SE edition comes with Huawei's Qiankun intelligent driving assistance system.

The refreshed DEEPAL S07 maintains similar exterior and interior design of its predecessor, featuring a closed-off grille, frameless doors, and electric hidden door handles. At the rear, the model adopts a full-width LED light strip, a large-sized spoiler, and a bottom diffuser, enhancing its sporty profile.

The interior of the model boasts an AR-HUD (augmented reality head-up display), a 15.6-inch floating central control screen, and a 12.3-inch co-driver ceiling-mounted screen. The infotainment system has been upgraded to the DEEPAL OS 3.0.

On February 9, the refreshed DEEPAL L07 model hit the market. The AD PRO DEEPAL Smart Driving version is priced from 151,900 yuan to 158,900 yuan, while the ADS SE Qiankun Smart Driving version is priced between 163,900 yuan and 170,900 yuan.

The exterior of the new model retains the design of its predecessor, featuring a closed-off front grille and split-type headlights. The front bumper features a trapezoidal air intake. In terms of power performance, the refreshed L07 comes equipped with DEEPAL’s Super Range Extended 2.0 system, which offers a CLTC-rated range of 300km on battery power alone.

All-new BMW Long-wheelbase edition

The all-new BMW X3 Long-wheelbase edition hit the market on Feruary 14. In addition to the increase in wheelbase, the new vehicle features comprehensive upgrades in exterior design, interior, and powertrain.

The exterior adopts the latest family design language, while the interior features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch floating central touchscreen, paired with the 9th-generation iDrive operating system.

Under the hood, the model is equipped with a 2.0T engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Some variants offer the xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The 25Li xDrive system delivers a maximum power of 208 horsepower, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of approximately 7.5 seconds. The 30Li xDrive system produces a maximum of 258 horsepower, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of around 6.2 seconds.

Upcoming models

2025 Volkswagen ID.3

The 2025 Volkswagen ID.3 model is set to hit the market on February 14. 

The exterior has been refreshed with black accents on the A-pillars and roofline, along with new 18-inch dual-tone petal-shaped wheels. The model offers two new exterior color options: beige and light blue.

The interior includes features like wireless phone charging and rear air conditioning vents. Power-wise, the refreshed ID.3 model is equipped with CATL's 53.6kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack and a 125 kW electric motor.

Chery Fulwin T8

Chery opened global presales for the Fulwin T8 model on January 11, 2025. The model offers six trims with presale prices ranging from 109,900 yuan to 156,900 yuan. Positioned as a 5+2-seat plug-in hybrid electric SUV, the Fulwin T8 will hit the market on February 22.

The interior of the Fulwin T8 incorporates a combination of black and brown colors with wood grain accents. The center console is wrapped in soft-touch materials.

The Fulwin T8 offers two plug-in hybrid powertrain options with battery-powered range options of 65 km and 130 km. The former is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine and an electric motor. The hybrid system delivers a combined power output of 225 kW and a total torque of 435 Nm. The latter is powered by a system that combines a 1.5T engine with an electric motor, offering a combined power of 265 kW and a total torque of 530 Nm.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra

On February 5, Xiaomi Group's Founder and Chairman Lei Jun revealed that the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra model will hit the market this month. The model started presales in October 2024, with a price of 814,900 yuan.

The SU7 Ultra features an integrated front spoiler and diamond mesh air intakes, coupled with a blacked-out emblem and headlights. The vehicle also comes equipped with a carbon fiber roof, side skirts, exterior mirror covers, and silver accents bearing the badge “Ultra”.

Powering the SU7 Ultra is a robust system consisting of two HyperEngine V8s e-motors and one HyperEngine V6s e-motor. The system delivers a maximum output of 1,548 horsepower, enabling the vehicle to achieve a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 1.98 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km/h.

AION UT

GAC AION revealed that it is set to put the AION UT model onto the market at the end of February, with pre-sale prices ranging from 89,800 yuan to 109,800 yuan. The vehicle offers six exterior color schemes.

Dimensionally, the AION UT measures 4,270 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase. The interior features an 8.8-inch liquid crystal instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen, with the infotainment system supporting HiCar, CarLink, and CarPlay for smartphone integration.

Power-wise, the vehicle is equipped with an electric motor delivering a maximum output of 100 kW. It can run at a top speed of 150 km/h.

The model comes with a 44.12 kWh battery, which offers a CLTC-rated range of 420 km.

Lynk & Co 900

On January 3, Lynk & Co unveiled its latest model, the Lynk & Co 900, which is set to hit the market in late February.

The Lynk & Co 900 model is built on the SPA Evo platform, an architecture dedicated to large plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. The vehicle features a distinctive front fascia characterized by a full-width light strip that is parallel to the lower grille.

2025 BYD Yuan PLUS

According to recent local reports, BYD is set to put the 2025 Yuan PLUS model onto the market in late February. With updates in the exterior and interior design, the model will offer a Smart Driving edition which is powered by the God's Eye system.

The exterior basically maintains its predecessor's design, yet with adjustments in the front bumper, door lower chrome trim, D-pillar accents, and rear bumper.

Power-wise, the 2025 Yuan PLUS is equipped with an electric motor that churns out a maximum output of 150 kW.
