Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On the evening of February 10, BYD announced the market launch of the Tang DM-i Smart Driving edition at its intelligence strategy launch event.
The Tang DM-i Smart Driving edition is available in four trim levels, priced between 179,800 yuan and 219,800 yuan. As a facelift, the Tang DM-i Smart Driving edition features upgrades in the intelligent driving system. The entry-level and mid-spec versions provide the God's Eye C smarting driving system, while the top-spec variant is equipped with the God's Eye B system.
The exterior maintains the large-mouth grille design, featuring a grid pattern for a striking visual effect. The headlights are smoked, flat-shaped, and equipped with matrix-style LED lights, connected by a continuous chrome strip that enhances the visual width of the front fascia. The lower bumper has a three-stage design, with vertically-placed air vents on both sides of the fender, and a flat trapezoidal air intake at the bottom.
The side profile of the vehicle includes a smooth-curve roof equipped with a shark fin and roof rack. The model features a segmented waistline design, with raised black trim on the wheel arches and side skirts.
At the rear, the Tang DM-i Smart Driving edition offers a large spoiler and a high-mounted brake light. The lower bumper area includes a trapezoidal recessed license plate frame, flanked by flow channels that enhance its sporty look.
In terms of dimensions, the model measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,950 mm in width, and 1,725 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, positioning it as a mid-size SUV.
Inside, the Tang DM-i Smart Driving edition follows the Dynasty series' design style, featuring a dual-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a fully liquid crystal display, a floating central control screen, and an electronic gear shifter. A large storage compartment is located in front of the gear lever.
As for driving assistance features, the entry-level and mid-spec versions are equipped with the God's Eye C smart driving system, which consists of five millimeter-wave radars, 12 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars. This system supports HD map-free navigate on autopilot and comes standard with an automated valet parking (AVP) function, which supports over 300 parking scenarios. The system will also be upgraded via OTA (over the air) to include a city memory navigate on autopilot (MNOA) feature by the end of the year. The top-spec variant is equipped with the God's Eye B smart driving system.
Power-wise, the model adopts BYD's fifth-generation DM (Dual Mode) system, which combines a 1.5T engine and an electric motor. The engine delivers a maximum power of 115 kW, while the electric motor produces a peak output of 200 kW. The model is powered by a 21.504 kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC-rated battery-powered range of 115 km.
