Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor announced on Feb. 10 its first global model from its new B series, the Leapmotor B10, will officially open for pre-sale on March 10, 2025.

Built on the new LEAP 3.5 technology platform, the B10 is designed to redefine the compact new energy SUV market by offering "global quality + advanced intelligence" at its core. Leapmotor has developed a comprehensive set of core intelligent driving technologies, covering everything from central domain control and chip definitions to system architecture, software algorithms, perception fusion, and AI training platforms. The model aims to popularize high-level intelligent driving and other leading technologies.

The B10 is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8295 intelligent cockpit chip, and also the first in its class to feature both the Qualcomm 8650 smart driving chip and LiDAR sensor. Its end-to-end intelligent driving large model enables real-time data fusion from multiple sensors to recognize complex road conditions.

With contributions from Stellantis' European team, the B10's chassis offers a balance of comfort and handling, tailored for global markets. The rear-drive layout, with a 50:50 front-to-rear axle weight distribution, enhances handling, stability, and driving pleasure.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
