Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Mr. Zhao Yongpo, General Manager of the HAVAL brand under Great Wall Motor (GWM), announced on February 8, that he will also take on the management of the ORA brand, signifying the official integration of HAVAL and ORA brands.

Mr. Zhao revealed that he is well-acquainted with ORA brand's products. Prior to his role at HAVAL, he was involved in the development, design, and technical support for each ORA's vehicle model. He expressed his commitment to leveraging his technical expertise to contribute to ORA's growth.

This integration is part of the reorganization of GWM's brand structure. In October 2024, the ORA brand saw its sales and after-sales channels merge with those of other brands under GWM, with some models like the ORA Good Cat already sold at HAVAL's stores. In December 2024, all of ORA app's services were migrated to the GWM app. The integration aims to optimize resources, improve operational efficiency, and drive ORA's development through HAVAL's established channels and organizational structure.

In January 2025, GWM's auto sales reached 80,933 vehicles, representing a 22.2% year-over-year decline. Of these, 22,263 units were new energy vehicles. In the same period, the company recorded a sales volume of 28,016 vehicles for its overseas business, representing a year-on-year growth of 6.23%.

Breaking down the January sales performance by brands, WEY sold 5,007 vehicles, up 49.42% year-on-year. HAVAL's sales in the month were 48,557 units, a decrease of 17.84% compared to the previous year. ORA's sales for January were 2,193 units, a plunge of 63.46% year-on-year.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
