Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On February 8, new energy intelligent heavy-duty truck developer DeepWay held a groundbreaking ceremony for its smart factory in Huzhou city, Zhejiang province, according to a post on the company's WeChat account.

The company said the new smart factory is set to foster collaboration with, and promote resource-sharing and technical exchanges between upstream and downstream supply chain enterprises, improving stability and efficiency of its supply chain.

The facility focuses on producing DeepWay's self-developed key components for commercial vehicles, including the battery pack, electric drive axle, and electronic controller. Once fully operational, the factory is projected to manufacture over 50,000 units of aforesaid systems for heavy-duty trucks annually.

As the "intelligent heart" of new energy heavy-duty trucks, these systems reduce the overall vehicle cost from the source and enhance the adaptability of heavy-duty trucks, allowing them to handle complex operating conditions and diverse transportation scenarios. The systems also can achieve fusions of lightweight vehicle design, low cost, and reduced energy consumption, positioning them as a driving force of new energy commercial vehicle industry toward high-end, intelligent, and green solutions.

Since May 2023, DeepWay has delivered more than 3,500 intelligent new energy heavy-duty trucks.

In the field of intelligent driving, DeepWay, as the exclusive authorized commercial vehicle enterprise for Baidu's intelligent driving technology, has achieved mass production and delivery of Level 2 intelligent new energy heavy-duty trucks. Its intelligent driving system is equipped with features such as anticipatory comfort braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assistance, enhancing the safety and efficiency of the vehicles.

Notably, DeepWay's intelligent heavy-duty trucks carry functions like front vehicle departure reminders and smart queue management. These features can alert the driver to start the vehicle when the preceding vehicle departs and allow for automated stop-and-go in traffic, effectively driver fatigue.

Meanwhile, DeepWay is committed to accelerating the commercial application of its Level 4 autonomous driving technology, aiming to provide users with more intelligent, convenient, and safe transportation solutions.
