Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On February 8, Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor announced the deployment of the DeepSeek-R1 large language model within its Xiao Ling GPT large model.
Currently, Leapmotor's in-car AI assistant supports multi-turn voice command interactions, text-to-image generation, and proactive learning. Leveraging the system compatibility and computing power of its 'Four-Leaf Clover' central domain controller, the integration of the DeepSeek-R1 model will enhance reasoning and logical processing for in-cabin interactions. This upgrade is expected to improve natural language comprehension and accelerate personalized service responses, delivering a more seamless and efficient experience in smart cockpit and human-machine interaction scenarios.
Leapmotor said the updated smart cockpit featuring the DeepSeek-R1 model will be launched soon.
Additionally, Leapmotor has deployed the DeepSeek-R1 model within its internal IT operations team, significantly boosting workflow efficiency.
As the DeepSeek trend sweeps the tech and automotive industries, multiple automakers have announced integrations with DeepSeek AI models. On February 8, Dongfeng Motor announced that it has fully integrated DeepSeek's large language models into the entire passenger vehicle lineup under its wholly-owned brands. Brands including VOYAH, MHERO, eπ, Aeolus, and Nammi, will soon adopt the AI-powered system.
The MHERO 917 luxury new energy off-roader has completed the integration of its smart cockpit with the DeepSeek-R1 model and is expected to receive an OTA update by April 2025.
Meanwhile, on February 8, GAC Group released a real-world demonstration video showcasing its in-car AI assistant responding to voice queries powered by the DeepSeek-R1. This marks the deep integration of GAC Group's self-developed ADiGO SENSE cloud-edge AI model with the DeepSeek-R1.
SAIC-GM-Wuling's Baojun brand announced on the same day that its Lingyu smart cockpit has been deeply integrated with the DeepSeek AI large model. Meanwhile, according to local reports, IM Motors has also incorporated DeepSeek into its smart cockpit and is collaborating with other AI models like Doubao and Tongyi Qianwen (Qwen) to build a multi-scenario AI matrix platform.
On February 7, Dongfeng Motor's VOYAH disclosed that its COURAGE SUV will be the brand's first model to feature DeepSeek's technology. The DREAM MPV will also incorporate the technology. Moreover, VOYAH's AI agent will continuously integrate with DeepSeek-R1 in the cloud, enhancing voice interactions and scenario-based recommendations for a more intuitive driving experience
On February 6, Geely confirmed that its self-developed Xingrui AI model, has completed deep integration with DeepSeek. Geely plans to refine its Xingrui FunctionCall model and other AI-driven vehicle interaction systems to accelerate the adoption of AI in smart vehicles.
