Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD announced on February 6 that its mid-to-large MPV, the BYD Xia, recorded cumulative sales of 10,003 units in the first month upon the market launch.

Hitting the market on January 8, the BYD Xia is available in four variants, priced between 249,800 yuan and 309,800 yuan.

The Xia's front fascia adopts BYD's signature "LOONG FACE" design language, featuring a bold front grille with a dragon-scale-armor-typed design and sleek LED headlights. Its side profile showcases a rising and full-length waistline. The Xia includes AR projection-activated sliding doors and a tailgate.

The Xia measures 5,145 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,805 mm in height, with a 3,045 mm wheelbase.

The model offers four color schemes: Mountain Green, Kiln Purple, Porcelain White, and Sky Black.

Inside, the BYD Xia comes with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch front passenger entertainment screen, and a 15.6-inch in-car cinema display. The interior comes with two color schemes: Brown-Beige and Mountain Gray.

As for intelligent driving features, the Xia comes standard with the DiPilot 100 advanced driver assistance system, powered by BYD’s in-house developed vehicle computing platform. With 29 sensors, the system enables lane navigation, adaptive cruise control, automatic parking, and lane departure assistance. The model also features the DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system, enhancing ride comfort and stability.

Additionally, the Xia is equipped with the DiLink 150 smart cockpit, supporting triple-screen synchronized entertainment, intelligent voice-activated connectivity across multiple vehicles, gaming with controllers, and AR glasses. It debuts the DiSound audio system, which includes 28 speakers and 32 independent audio channels, paired with the in-car cinema display.

As BYD's first mid-to-large MPV powered by its fifth-generation DM (dual mode) technology, the Xia combines a 1.5T engine with the EHS200 electric hybrid system. The engine delivers a maximum power of 115 kW and a peak torque of 225 N·m, while the electric motor pumps out 200 kW.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
