Beijing (Gasgoo)- On February 7, Changan Automobile announced it will host a launch event on February 9 for its "Beidou Tianshu 2.0" intelligent strategy and DEEPAL brand's all-scenario smart driving solutions. The event is also expected to debut DEEPAL's new flagship SUV, the S09.

Changan aims to showcase breakthroughs in intelligent driving technology and advancements in full-stack automotive intelligence capabilities. DEEPAL, the automaker's new energy vehicle brand, will introduce its latest all-scenario smart driving solution, featuring updates to highway NOA (navigation-on-autopilot), urban NOA, and intelligent parking. This follows Changan Automobile's "Beidou Tianshu Plan" in 2018, which outlined its transformation into a smart mobility tech company. By 2025, Changan plans to achieve 100% voice control capabilities across its vehicles and launch L4 autonomous driving vehicles.

According to information released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the DEEPAL S09 features a futuristic design with a full-width light bar, a closed front grille, and an X-shaped lower intake. Equipped with a LiDAR sensor, it is expected to support Huawei's Qiankun ADS 3.0 smart driving system. Measuring 5,205 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, 1,800 mm in height, with a 3,105 mm wheelbase, the SUV offers a spacious interior.

Powered by DEEPAL's Super Range-Extending 2.0 technology, the S09 combines a 1.5T hybrid engine with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering robust performance and efficiency.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
