[SMM Analysis: Lithium Battery Procurement Volume Dropped MoM in January, Mainly Due to Reduced Production During Chinese New Year]
In January, China's recycling volume of lithium battery production waste dropped slightly. Downstream demand became mediocre as Chinese New Year approached, and large-scale inventory buildup by most wet-process plants was mainly concentrated at the end of December. The total recycling volume for the month (in black mass terms) reached 22,576 mt, marking a decline after December, down approximately 13% MoM. Among them, the recycling volumes of NCM and LFP production waste were 8,406 mt and 13,607 mt, respectively.
