Battery Network learned from the Huang-Bohai New Area in Yantai City, Shandong Province, that on February 5, Lihua Power Supply Technology Co., Ltd. held a safety education and training activity titled "First Lesson of Construction" for its 25GWh large cylindrical ESS battery project.
"Construction will officially commence tomorrow, and we will begin commissioning auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, and dust collectors in the battery cell workshop of Section 1," said Li Yang, Deputy General Manager of Infrastructure at Lihua Power Supply. He added that the main workshop construction of Section 1 has been completed 100%, with only the installation of cleanroom, electromechanical, and fire protection equipment remaining.
"We expect to start production in June 2025. Phase 1 of the project will establish a production capacity of 4GWh for large cylindrical LFP battery cells, with an annual output value of 2.2 billion yuan and profits and taxes reaching 300 million yuan, creating over 500 jobs. Once fully operational, the project will achieve an annual production capacity of 25GWh for large cylindrical LFP battery cells, with an annual output value of 15 billion yuan, driving employment for 3,000 people," Li Yang stated. He also mentioned that the volume of intended orders has already exceeded the total production capacity for the entire year of 2025.
According to available information, Lihua Power Supply Technology Co., Ltd. was established in March 2023. The company is committed to developing large cylindrical batteries with high energy density, long cycle life, high C-rate performance, and ultimate safety. Its products are widely applicable in scenarios such as wind and solar power ESS, industrial and commercial large-scale ESS, household ESS, small power, and new energy vehicles. The 25GWh large cylindrical ESS battery project by Lihua Power Supply involves a total investment of 10 billion yuan and primarily includes the construction of office buildings, R&D buildings, battery cell workshops, formation workshops, and module PACK workshops. The project will introduce fully automated ESS battery production lines, focusing on the production of large cylindrical batteries in the "46-diameter series."
