SMM February 5 News:

Rare Earth Ore

Prices: Rare earth carbonate prices were approximately 33,600 yuan/mt, monazite prices were around 38,300 yuan/mt, and medium-yttrium, europium-rich ore standard ore prices were about 177,500 yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Currently, after the Chinese New Year holiday, the festive atmosphere in the market remains strong, and the activity level of shipments from the mining side is not high.

Rare Earth Oxides

Prices: The mainstream quotation range for Pr-Nd oxide was 415,000-417,000 yuan/mt; the transaction range for dysprosium oxide was around 1.67-1.69 million yuan/mt, and terbium oxide quotations were approximately 5.92-5.96 million yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: Today, most suppliers exhibited a strong wait-and-see sentiment, with low activity in market quotations and inquiries. Rare earth oxide prices showed no significant changes.

Rare Earth Metals

Prices: The mainstream quotation for Pr-Nd alloy was approximately 508,000-515,000 yuan/mt, dysprosium-iron prices corresponding to oxide quotations were around 1.6-1.63 million yuan/mt, and terbium metal quotations were about 7.4-7.43 million yuan/mt.

Supply and Demand: The market departments of rare earth metal factories have just resumed operations. Market quotations were quiet, with most producers primarily observing post-holiday changes and showing low enthusiasm for active quoting.

Magnetic Materials

Prices: NdFeB blank prices were as follows: NdFeB blank N38 (Ce) closed at 133-143 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 40M closed at 179-189 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 40H closed at 183-193 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 45SH (Ce) closed at 233-253 yuan/kg.

Supply and Demand: After the holiday, some magnetic material factories have resumed production, but as not all workers have returned, overall capacity has not yet reached normal levels. Market trading activity remains low.

NdFeB Scrap

Prices: NdFeB scrap Pr-Nd prices closed at 431-436 yuan/kg; NdFeB scrap dysprosium prices closed at 1,559-1,587 yuan/kg; NdFeB scrap terbium prices closed at 5,087-5,123 yuan/kg.

Supply and Demand: After the Chinese New Year holiday, although some manufacturers continued production without stopping, most enterprises are gradually resuming operations. In the short term, overall production levels have declined compared to pre-holiday levels, and market trading activity remains subdued.

[SMM Rare Earth Morning Meeting Summary] Pr-Nd series raised by futures boost but transactions failed to follow, medium-heavy rare earth dysprosium and terbium stable with slight adjustments, magnetic material followed the rise but spot orders limited
[Pr-Nd series raised on futures boost but transactions lagged, medium-heavy rare earth dysprosium and terbium stable with slight adjustments, magnetic material price hikes limited by spot orders] Last week, Pr-Nd oxide quotations were broadly raised, buoyed by stronger futures, with low-priced spot cargo in the market visibly dwindling. Gains narrowed slightly near the close, but downstream magnetic material enterprises remained cautious in purchasing and showed limited acceptance of high prices, leaving actual transactions insufficient to follow through. Dysprosium oxide prices held steady for the time being, with market inquiries maintaining a just-in-time pace. Terbium oxide also remained stable, while transactions for high-priced cargo struggled to move forward.
