To deeply tap the line's potential and optimize the product mix, Rizhao Steel recently completed a comprehensive upgrade of its No.7 pickling and rolling line and added a continuous rolling mill. After the transformation, the line's designed annual capacity has been raised to 1.2 million mt, achieving a significant improvement in large-scale, specialized production capability. Since the project was put into operation, production and technical positions have worked closely together to overcome multiple process bottlenecks and successfully achieve product iteration for medium- and high-carbon steel lean coil products. From May to August this year, the line has stably mass-produced multiple grades of high-quality medium- and high-carbon steel products for saw blades, yielding fruitful phased results from the technological transformation, upgrade, and new product development.

Recently, the Garrett coiler independently developed by Qingdao Leiting Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., the first of its kind in China, successfully completed hot commissioning and passed steel on the first attempt at Severstal in Cherepovets, Russia. To break through the technical barriers, the Leiting Heavy Industry R&D team carried out sustained research, completing multiple technical innovations in structural optimisation, coil stripping mechanisms, and automatic control logic, and obtained a series of independent patents. The team overcame industry pain points of conventional models, such as unstable coil shape, coil stripping jams, and poor reliability under high-temperature conditions. The equipment is adaptable to twist-free, tension-free coiling of multiple wire rod specifications, with neat coil forming, stable operation, and convenient maintenance, fully meeting the continuous production needs of steel mills in China and overseas.
