Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Jan. 24, Chinese artificial intelligence solution developer AICT announced it had signed a "1+3" strategic cooperation agreement with the Multimedia Laboratory, the Green, FinTech, and Property Technology Laboratory, and the Future Urban and Sustainable Environment Laboratory at the University of Hong Kong. The collaboration aims to advance cutting-edge High-Accuracy Artificial Intelligence (HAI) technologies in smart cities and intelligent transportation.

Founded in 2015, AICT specializes in HAI technology and its applications in areas such as perception robots, intelligent traffic signals, smart roads, autonomous driving, integrated vehicle-road-cloud systems, low-altitude urban transportation, and spatial intelligence.

The partnership leverages HKU's strengths in computer science, AI, big data, and data science, combined with AICT's expertise in advanced AI research, project implementation, and practical deployment. The two parties aim to integrate academia and industry, driving the high-level application of advanced HAI technologies.

The collaboration also includes fostering deep exchanges between academia and industry, with AICT providing opportunities for HKU students to gain hands-on project experience, bridging theoretical knowledge and real-world problem-solving skills. Notably, the partnership will jointly apply for Hong Kong government projects in smart city and intelligent transportation initiatives. By pooling their resources, both parties aim to accelerate the adoption of AICT's HAI technologies in Hong Kong's urban infrastructure and mobility solutions.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
