Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 21, Chinese eVTOL aircraft developer AEROFUGIA and China Academy of Civil Aviation Science and Technology (CAST) signed a strategic cooperation agreement to advance sustainable development of the low-altitude aviation ecosystem, according to a post on AEROFUGIA's WeChat account.

Both parties aim to deepen collaboration in areas like resource sharing, joint innovation, key project breakthroughs, national platform development, major technological achievements, system research, standards construction, and high-level talent cultivation. Together, the duo seeks to drive the advancement of China's aviation technology and enhance its global competitiveness.

Based on the principles of win-win cooperation and shared development, the duo aims to establish a collaborative innovation system to promote the transformation of technological achievements and create a strong synergy for innovation in the low-altitude aviation sector.

CAST has established a comprehensive research framework covering civil aviation safety, operations, and development, solidifying its position as a leading institution both in research capabilities and civil aviation operations across the country.

CAST is engaged in such areas as low-altitude industry planning, airworthiness certification, operational risk assessment, and intelligent low-altitude supervision, while also offering technical support for regulatory development and lifecycle management services for aircraft.

AEROFUGIA, a subsidiary of Geely Technology Group, specializes in vertical take-off and landing aircraft powered by new energy and intelligent driving systems, boasting advantages in the R&D and manufacturing of next-generation aircraft, autonomous flight technologies, and operational capabilities. It is also the first company in the country to have its manned eVTOL project formally accepted for airworthiness certification by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
