Chinese lithium battery separator film supplier SEMCORP secures order from LG Energy Solution

On January 21, Yunnan Energy New Materials Co., Ltd. (SEMCORP), a Chinese lithium-ion battery separator film supplier, announced that its subsidiary Shanghai SEMCORP had signed a supply agreement with South Korea’s battery manufacturer LG Energy Solution (LGES). As per the agreement, LGES plans to procure around 3.55 billion-square-meter lithium-ion battery separators from Shanghai SEMCORP and the latter's affiliates between 2025 and 2027.

DeepRoute.ai reveals Vision Language Action model at AUTOMOTIVE WORLD 2025

On January 22, autonomous driving tech company DeepRoute.ai showcased its Vision Language Action (VLA) model at the 17th AUTOMOTIVE WORLD 2025 in Japan. The company also announced a mass-production partnership with a leading automaker. The duo plans to co-launch intelligent vehicles equipped with the VLA model.

On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
