Beijing (Gasgoo)- LiDAR company Hesai Technology on Jan. 22 announced an exclusive mass-production agreement with Dongfeng Motor for multiple brands and vehicle models, including its premium new energy vehicle brand VOYAH.

Under the agreement, starting in 2025, these vehicles will feature Hesai's compact, ultra-high-definition long-range LiDAR, the ATX, delivering an enhanced intelligent driving experience.

VOYAH said its vehicles combine Chinese elegance with modern technology, aiming to create premium vehicles imbued with cultural heritage and innovation. Since September 2024, VOYAH's monthly sales have surpassed 10,000 units for four consecutive months, culminating in a record-breaking volume in December. In the past year, VOYAH's annual vehicle sales exceeded 85,000 units, representing a 70% year-on-year surge, reflecting robust growth momentum.

Hesai's ATX, launched in 2024, builds on the proven AT platform with a mature 1D scanning architecture, offering organized point clouds and high reliability. Equipped with Hesai's latest fourth-generation chip architecture, the ATX features upgraded optical and laser transmission-reception modules, achieving a compact form factor and exceptional performance. Its small size, long range, and wide-angle capabilities have earned the ATX production contracts for dozens of car models globally.

As of now, Hesai has secured designated factory-installation contracts from 22 automakers for over 100 vehicle models. Adding Dongfeng Motor to its portfolio highlights the company's strong position in the automotive LiDAR market. In December 2024, Hesai achieved a milestone with over 100,000 LiDAR units delivered in a single month, setting an industry record and cementing its global leadership.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
