Beijing (Gasgoo)- AI perception and edge computing chip company Axera marked a new chapter in its five-year journey by establishing its autonomous driving headquarters in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area, according to the company's WeChat announcement on Jan. 20.
This strategic move signals Axera's deepened commitment to smart driving technologies and its expansion into a new frontier for in-vehicle business development.
Over the past five years, Axera has focused on developing and mass-producing multiple generations of intelligent chips, serving markets including in-vehicle computing, smart IoT, edge computing, and robotics. Its chips are particularly prominent in the smart driving and IoT sectors, where they hold a leading position in market share.
With rapid advancements in intelligent connected technologies reshaping the automotive industry, Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area has become a hub for intelligent connected new energy vehicles. The region emphasizes innovation-driven industrial transformation, fostering a robust automotive ecosystem.
Axera has already formed partnerships with numerous domestic and international automakers and system integrators. It plans to mass-produce advanced autonomous driving chips in the next phase. Additionally, Axera is exploring collaborations with Chongqing's research institutions through joint laboratories, industry-academia integration, and talent development initiatives, aiming to boost Chongqing's semiconductor and algorithm R&D capabilities and accelerate industrialization.
