Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In 2024, BYD exported 3,582 new energy buses in the overseas market, representing a 13.79% year-on-year (YoY) jump and raising its market share to 23.19% in China's corresponding segment, according to a post on BYD Commercial Vehicle's WeChat account.

In early November 2024, the 150th pure electric bus manufactured by BYD's German factory rolled off the production line, signifying the company's deep presence in the German market and underscoring its competitive strength in Europe.

In the South African market, BYD secured an order for 120 buses in July 2024 through a partnership with local prominent bus operator Golden Arrow. In October, the first batch of 20 pure electric buses for this order rolled off the production line at BYD's Qingdao factory. These buses were designed to meet local climate conditions, forming South Africa's first electric bus fleet.

In addition, BYD made strides in other countries and regions last year. In July, BYD secured an order for 160 12-meter all-electric buses in the procurement project from Azerbaijan's government, providing the country with a green and eco-friendly public transport solution. BYD's Hungarian electric bus factory rolled off its 700th vehicle, further cementing its position in the European market. In September, BYD delivered 100 pure electric buses to CUTCSA, Uruguay's electric bus operator.

As part of its global market expansion, BYD has been advancing the construction of overseas factories and has established sales networks across over 50 countries and regions.

Up until now, BYD has sold over 110,000 new energy buses, covering over 400 cities worldwide.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
