Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 8, 2025, Schaeffler and XPENG AEROHT, a flying car (also eVTOL aircraft) company under XPENG, signed an agreement in Guangzhou to collaborate on the volume production of stator and rotor assemblies for the flight e-drive system of the latter's flying cars, according to Schaeffler's press release.

This partnership marks Schaeffler's expansion into the flying car sector, laying the groundwork for its future growth in the low-altitude aviation industry.

Under the agreement, Schaeffler will supply core components—stator and rotor assemblies—for the flight e-drive system of XPENG AEROHT’s modular flying car, dubbed the "Land Aircraft Carrier."

As the power unit of flying cars, the flight e-drive system demands exceptional safety, reliability, and lightweight design. Schaeffler highlighted its extensive expertise in aerospace and automotive e-drive technologies, as well as its experience in product development and mass production, as critical factors in delivering efficient and reliable drive systems.

With nearly a century of experience in aerospace product R&D and manufacturing, Schaeffler holds Nadcap certification and AS9100D aerospace quality certification. In the automotive sector, Schaeffler provides comprehensive e-drive solutions, including electric motors, electric controllers, reduction gearboxes, and complete e-drive systems.

XPENG AEROHT is dedicated to creating safe, intelligent flying cars and other low-altitude mobility solutions through technological innovation. Its "Land Aircraft Carrier," a modular flying car designed for personal consumers, received over 2,000-unit orders at the Airshow China in last November. The model has successfully completed its maiden global manned flight and is set to begin presales soon, with mass production and deliveries planned for 2026.
