Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 17, BYD hosted a design launch event for its Han L and Tang L models, indicating the global debut of the two flagship models.
With the new vehicle model unveiled, the Han and Tang families' Dragon FACE front design has officially evolved into the LOONG FACE, which features more dynamic and pronounced "dragon whisker" lines that extend along the sides, giving the front end a wider, more commanding presence.
The headlamp design draws inspiration from the "square pupil" concept in Chinese culture, adding a distinctive finishing touch that enhances the vitality and recognition of the LOONG FACE design.
The side profile of the Han L and Tang L introduces a cultural element by using the brushstroke of traditional Chinese calligraphy to carve out a minimalist yet pure visual experience, giving the vehicles a smooth, elegant, and robust appearance.
At the rear, the design incorporates elements of traditional Chinese culture, extending the Chinese knot motif, inspired by the phoenix's wings and traditional bamboo weaving. These elements are named "Phoenix Feathers" and "Bamboo Rhythm," respectively, with the rear light clusters featuring a three-dimensional curve that harmonizes with the vehicle's body lines.
The design of the two new cars not only reflects Chinese culture in their exterior but also incorporates Chinese aesthetics into the interior. Drawing inspiration from the "eaves" of traditional Chinese architecture, the interior design mimics the "ridge" and "backbone" of roofs, embodying the concept of "Harmony Between Heaven and Humanity." This philosophy creatively connects architectural and automotive space, resulting in a flagship cabin that is tailored to Chinese users, described as "Under the Eaves, the Great Hall of Elegance."
In terms of size, the Han L measures 5,050×1,960×1,505mm with a 2,970mm wheelbase, offering ample interior space, while the Tang L measures 5,040×1,996×1,760mm with a 2,950mm wheelbase. Both models come standard with the "Space Magic Seven Seats," allowing users to easily switch between two- to seven-seat configurations.
The vehicles also feature 3D bamboo wood as a new interior material, which adds a refined visual effect and highlights the unique taste and cultural depth of Chinese design. The dashboard uses a combination of leather and knitted fabric, providing a soft tactile feel, while the armrest compartment is finished with flocking materials for enhanced comfort. Additionally, traditional physical buttons for commonly used functions are retained, with ergonomic consideration for their size and placement.
