Shanghai (Gasgoo)- SuperPanther, a Chinese new energy heavy-duty truck developer, recently completed a Series B funding, which raised for the company hundreds of millions of yuan.
This fresh round was co-invested by Yulin Coal Conversion Fund and the Yuyang District government.
The funds will primarily be used to accelerate technology R&D, enhance delivery capabilities in the Chinese market, and expedite the company’s global market expansion.
Founded in 2022, SuperPanther is a new energy commercial vehicle manufacturer established by a team from Tsinghua University's Department of Automotive Engineering and former executives from Continental AG. The company is committed to providing full-stack in-house developed technologies to unlock new energy transportation scenarios.
In April 2024, the company put the SuperPanther Black Diamond Intelligent eTruck onto the market with large-scale deliveries starting in August of the same year. With four full-stack in-house developed technologies as its core, the eTruck enhances capabilities in bulk cargo transportation scenarios, showcasing marked improvements in energy consumption, efficiency, recharging, and performance in winter.
Since the start of mass production and deliveries, SuperPanther has worked with clients, unlocking bulk cargo transport for mountainous areas, long-distance routes, and extreme temperature conditions.
In September 2024, SuperPanther launched its "Enabler" strategy in Europe. According to the company's introduction, the strategy comprehensively describes SuperPanther's open business model aimed at the global market. It promotes collaboration with global OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and ecosystem partners to offer electric heavy-duty truck solutions, thus facilitating a genuine transformation towards electrification within the industry.
Currently, a new series of electric heavy-duty trucks, which is co-developed by SuperPanther and European automotive company Steyr Automotive, is in the final stages of R&D, with customer trials expected to commence in mid-2025 and deliveries scheduled for the end of the year.
