Under the agreement, the two companies will leverage their respective strengths to collaborate on charging station development as a starting point and work closely to promote their brands.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 15, GAC Energy Technology Co., Ltd. ("GAC Energy"), GAC Group's subsidiary, and Malaysia's EV Plus Mobility Solutions Sdn. Bhd. ("EV PLUS Mobility") signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement, according to a post on GAC Energy's WeChat account.

Under the agreement, the two companies will leverage their respective strengths to collaborate on charging station development as a starting point and work closely to promote their brands.

The new partnership will focus on advancing Malaysia's new energy vehicle (NEV) infrastructure, selling and implementing charging solutions, and enhancing operational services. Together, they aim to explore innovative commercial models for the NEV charging sector, offering users more convenient and efficient green mobility experiences.

EV PLUS Mobility, a leading NEV service provider in Malaysia, specializes in building charging station networks and promoting NEVs, striving to deliver efficient and convenient charging solutions for its users.

GAC Energy highlighted that this partnership reflects its active efforts to implement GAC Group's "1551" internationalization strategy and accelerate its expansion into the global energy market. The company is placing significant emphasis on developing overseas markets, utilizing its product and technological advantages to support global green energy transitions and low-carbon development.

As part of its global business strategy, on September 19, 2024, GAC Energy Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation framework agreement with Centara Hotels & Resorts, a leading tourism and luxury hotel group in Thailand.

According to that agreement, the two parties would establish and operate supercharging stations at Centara hotels in Bangkok and key cities nationwide. The collaboration seeks to integrate Thailand's tourism sector with energy networks, creating multi-functional energy hubs that combine business travel, leisure, and NEV exhibition and sales.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
