Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 15, autonomous driving solution developer Pony.ai and logistics company Sinotrans announced the signing of a renewal agreement for their joint venture, CYANTRON, signaling an upgraded partnership to advance scalable commercialization of autonomous trucking. This renewed agreement strengthens their strategic collaboration and sets a clear direction for the future of CYANTRON.

Under the new agreement, Pony.ai and Sinotrans will jointly support CYANTRON by increasing investments in technology R&D and operations, while expanding the scale of controllable transportation capacity.

As a pioneer in Autonomous Driving Transportation as a Service (AD-TaaS), CYANTRON aims to enhance its integrated operations, optimize efficient resource networks, and build China’s largest autonomous truck fleet. The company is also embracing the trend of electrification, gradually increasing the proportion of new energy trucks within its fleet to align with operational demands.

Since its establishment in early 2022, CYANTRON has set benchmarks in autonomous freight services, combining Pony.ai’s technological expertise with Sinotrans' logistics management capabilities. By leveraging digitalized and intelligent logistics solutions, CYANTRON has achieved scalable, efficient, and safe operations. As of the end of 2024, Pony.ai and CYANTRON have together transported over 860 million tonne-kilometers of cargo, with a total operational distance exceeding 57 million kilometers, including 5 million kilometers of autonomous driving.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
