Waaree's solar cell factory begins trial production

Waaree Energies Limited has commenced trial production at its new 5.4GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Gujarat as of January 6, 2025. The company claims to be India's largest photovoltaic module manufacturer, reaching a total module production capacity of 13.3GW by June 30, 2024. These capabilities are distributed across five manufacturing facilities located in Chikhli, Surat, Tumb, and Nandigram, all in Gujarat.
In October 2022, Waaree Energies announced its entry into the solar cell manufacturing sector, planning for a 5.4GW production capacity. The company also envisions establishing a 2GW photovoltaic module plant in the United States and intends to expand this capacity to 5GW.
