On the evening of January 14, Yunnan Enjie (002812) announced that its controlling subsidiary, Shanghai Enjie New Material Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Enjie"), and its controlled affiliated companies signed a "Procurement Framework Agreement" with Beijing WELION New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "WELION New Energy"). According to the agreement, WELION New Energy will allocate 80% of its material procurement share to Shanghai Enjie and its controlled affiliated companies for the purchase of electrolyte separators for half-solid state batteries, as well as electrolytes and electrolyte membranes for solid-state batteries.

From 2025 to 2030, WELION New Energy is expected to place orders with Shanghai Enjie and its controlled affiliated companies for no less than 300 million m² of electrolyte separators for half-solid and solid-state batteries, and no less than 100 mt of electrolytes for solid-state batteries, subject to actual purchase orders.

Enjie Co., Ltd. stated that the signing of this agreement will help deepen the partnership between the company and its customers, further enhance the company's profitability, and strengthen its market expansion and competitiveness in the fields of half-solid state battery separators and solid-state battery electrolytes. If the agreement is successfully implemented, it is expected to have a positive impact on the company's operating performance from 2025 to 2030.

According to a previous survey announcement, since the establishment of Hunan Enjie in December 2021, Enjie Co., Ltd. has made significant progress in the field of key materials for solid-state batteries, having applied for 38 patents and been granted 22. The company has a strong R&D team dedicated to the development of key materials for sulphide-based solid-state batteries.

Currently, Enjie Co., Ltd.'s high-purity lithium sulfide products for solid-state applications have completed the construction and operation of a pilot-scale production capacity at the mt level, while the trial production of a 100 mt-scale lithium sulfide intermediate test is being accelerated. To meet customer demand, a 10 mt-scale production line for sulphide-based solid-state electrolytes is under construction. Future capacity planning will be adjusted based on downstream market demand.

In Enjie Co., Ltd.'s view, sulphide-based solid-state batteries hold the greatest potential in the solid-state field. However, liquid batteries will continue to dominate for some time, with top-tier battery enterprises continuously optimizing the energy density and safety of liquid batteries. Enjie Co., Ltd. will also keep iterating its liquid battery separator technology to drive their development.
