Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 12, FAW-Volkswagen (FAW-VW), the joint venture between FAW Group and Volkswagen Group, officially put the JETTA VA7 model onto the market. The vehicle is available in three variants, priced between 99,777 yuan and 129,777 yuan.

The JETTA VA7 maintains Volkswagen's aesthetic design philosophy, showcasing a distinctive polygonal front fascia complemented by a dot-matrix grille and LED headlights.

The side profile adopts a forward-sloping design with a rising rear, while the continuous waistline enhances the vehicle's sporty character and sense of speed.

Inside, the JETTA VA7 adopts a wraparound dashboard which is slightly tilted toward the driver side. The vehicle features ergonomically designed seats, with the driver seat offering 8-way electric adjustment and front seat heating. It comes equipped with a 10.1-inch floating central touchscreen, a wireless phone charging panel, and a panoramic sunroof with anti-pinch functionality.

The VA7 measures 4,773mm long, 1,789mm wide, and 1,469mm tall, with a 2,731mm wheelbase. It offers a trunk capacity of 553L, which can be expanded via 4/6 split-folding rear seats.

Under the hood, the JETTA VA7 is powered by Volkswagen's EA211 1.4T engine, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This powertrain enables a fuel efficiency of 5.87L per 100 kilometers under WLTC conditions. Built on the MQB (modular transverse toolkit) platform, the model features a front MacPherson and rear multi-link independent suspension.

As for safety, the new model employs high-strength hot-formed steel plates with a tensile strength of up to 1,250 MPa at critical points. Its roof and rear panels adopt aerospace-grade sinusoidal laser welding.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
