Shanghai (Gasgoo)- IM Motors and Global Car-Sharing & Rental Co. Ltd. recently signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement, with plans to jointly deploy nearly 1,000 premium new energy vehicles under the IM brand across China's car rental market.

The fleet will include models such as the IM L6, L7, LS7, and all-new LS6, providing consumers with high-quality car rental services.

Under the cooperation, the first batch of IM vehicles is already available through Global Car-Sharing & Rental's short-term car rental service brand, EVCARD. This service spans over 30 major transportation hubs and popular tourist cities, including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Haikou, Qingdao, Changsha, Kunming, and Sanya, further strengthening IM Motors' presence in the high-end rental market.

This collaboration not only boosts IM Motors' market influence but also enriches Global Car-Sharing & Rental's vehicle portfolio, catering to diverse customer needs.

Founded in December 2020, IM Motors is a premium NEV maker co-backed by SAIC Motors, Zhanghai High-Tech, and Alibaba Group.

In 2024, IM Motors recorded full-year sales of 65,505 vehicles, a 71% year-on-year spike, marking the brand's fourth consecutive year of growth.

On December 25, 2024, IM Motors announced the successful completion of its B1 funding round, raising 9.4 billion yuan in total B-series financing. The funds will be invested in R&D of core technologies such as digital smart chassis, steer-by-wire systems, and intelligent driving, while accelerating the development of new products.

In 2025, IM Motors will introduce four new models: two BEVs (battery electric vehicles) and two REEVs (range-extended electric vehicles), aiming to meet the evolving and diverse needs of its customers.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
