Beijing (Gasgoo)- During CES 2025, Black Sesame Technologies and Continental signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on high-performance computing units (HPCs), addressing the growing demands of the intelligent vehicle market, according to the Chinese company's announcement on WeChat.

Continental is a leader in sustainable connected driving and transportation solutions. Meanwhile, Black Sesame Technologies' in-house developed SoC-based solutions, built with proprietary IP cores, algorithms, and reference software, enables full-stack autonomous driving and cross-domain integration capabilities.

HPCs are foundational to software defined vehicles, attracting significant attention as automotive electronic architectures evolve. This partnership aims to strengthen both companies' positions in cross-domain HPCs by enhancing reliability, efficiency, and safety. Their joint efforts will drive the innovation of smart cockpits, vehicle body systems, and autonomous and assisted driving technologies, ultimately improving future mobility experiences.

The collaboration will span product development, resource sharing, and market expansion. Black Sesame Technologies will grant early access to SoC samples, evaluation kits, and application software, working closely with Continental's expert team to align architectures for optimal synergy and efficiency. The companies will also explore new business opportunities, with a focus on joint efforts in the Chinese market.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
