Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 10, 2025, Chinese automaker GAC Group announced that its 78th Board of Directors meeting approved the establishment of the GH Project Company (provisional name), with a registered capital of 1.5 billion yuan.

The GH project marks a deep integration of GAC Group's and Huawei's respective strengths, focusing on joint product definition and design. The two companies will collaborate extensively in product development, marketing strategies, and ecosystem services to create a cutting-edge automotive brand underpinned by an entirely new architecture. The initiative aims to deliver innovative, intelligent mobility solutions through a lineup of advanced smart vehicles.

The first model under this collaboration is set to debut as a luxury intelligent new energy vehicle (NEV) in the 300,000-yuan price range. Both companies have initiated joint operations, working closely to bring this vision to life.

GAC Group and Huawei have maintained a strong strategic partnership for years, spanning hardware, software, cloud services, R&D, and intelligent manufacturing. In November 2024, GAC Group and Huawei signed an agreement to deepen their partnership, committing to establish a new premium smart NEV brand alongside the automaker’s existing brands: Trumpchi, AION, and HYPTEC. The GH Project Company signifies a major milestone in accelerating this vision and setting a new benchmark in the smart NEV market.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
