In December 2024, China's EMD production saw a slight decline MoM. The primary reason for the slight decrease in December production was the year-end lull in the primary battery market, with no significant increase in demand observed. Companies generally maintained a cautious production approach, focusing on destocking. The secondary battery market also faced challenges, as weak demand for LMO led to a decline in demand for lithium-manganese dioxide, resulting in reduced production schedules by companies. It is expected that in January, due to the impact of the Chinese New Year holiday, the production of manganese dioxide will continue to decline MoM, with a more pronounced decrease likely for lithium-manganese dioxide.
