Reuters reported from London that three informed sources revealed that energy and commodities trader Vitol is planning to withdraw a large amount of aluminum from the London Metal Exchange (LME) warehouse in Port Klang, Malaysia, to reduce storage costs. Notably, the storage fee for aluminum in LME-approved warehouses in Port Klang is 56¢ per mt, which is approximately five times the cost of renting metal outside the LME warehousing system.
