[SMM Analysis: Limited Downstream Stockpiling Before the Holiday, Increased Purchase Willingness for 107 Silicone Rubber Amid Discounts] This week, silicone 107 rubber was quoted at a stable price of 13,150 yuan/mt. Downstream enterprises approached the end of year-end stockpiling, with overall market trading volume remaining low. Mainstream transaction prices stabilized at 13,000 yuan/mt, with fewer high-price transactions, as enterprises primarily focused on low-price sales.

SMM, January 8: This week, 107 silicone rubber enterprises quoted prices at 12,800-13,500 yuan/mt, down 200 yuan WoW. Mainstream transaction prices remained stable at 13,000 yuan/mt. Year-end stockpiling by downstream enterprises is nearing completion, and overall market trading volume is limited. To secure orders before the Chinese New Year, reduce inventory, and stabilize their market share, 107 silicone rubber enterprises primarily focused on low-price sales.

This week, domestic 107 silicone rubber prices dropped slightly. In Shandong, prices were quoted at 13,000-13,500 yuan/mt, stable WoW. In Zhejiang, prices were quoted at 13,000-13,500 yuan/mt, with a slight decline WoW. In Hebei, prices were quoted at 13,200-13,500 yuan/mt, temporarily stable. According to SMM, recent 107 silicone rubber market prices have been operating at low levels. As the Chinese New Year approaches, downstream enterprises' stockpiling is nearing completion, and demand is gradually weakening. Due to high production levels earlier, inventory accumulation has led to a focus on destocking through price concessions as part of the year-end push. Some enterprises have lowered their quotations, shifting the transaction center downward. However, despite the price concessions, downstream purchase willingness has shown limited improvement, with only slight stockpiling observed.

Regarding future price forecasts, SMM believes that 107 silicone rubber prices are expected to remain weakly stable. With logistics operations about to halt and shipments to remote areas restricted, year-end stockpiling by downstream enterprises is expected to conclude, leading to a decline in demand. However, current DMC prices at 12,800-13,500 yuan/mt provide cost support for 107 silicone rubber prices. It is anticipated that 107 silicone rubber prices will remain weakly stable in the near term, with low-price strategies aimed at securing orders.

Before the holiday, the black chain is unlikely to see a trend-driven market [SMM Steel Industry Chain Weekly Report].
This week, ferrous metals were in the doldrums, with coking coal and coke staging a mid-week rise. At the beginning of the week, financial markets experienced sharp fluctuations, dragging down sentiment in the ferrous chain and leading to a pullback in futures. Mid-week, Indonesia's cut to coke production quotas drove coking coal and coke futures to lead the gains, though the impact was more pronounced on thermal coal, while coking coal's rise was largely sentiment-driven and short-lived. In the latter part of the week, finished products continued their seasonal inventory buildup, and support from the raw material side weakened, causing the entire ferrous chain to pull back. In the spot market, with the Chinese New Year holiday approaching, purchasing activity slowed down further, with end-users only making limited, as-needed purchases at low prices.
