Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 8, BYD officially put its latest MPV model, the Xia, onto the market. The model is available in four variants, priced between 249,800 yuan and 309,800 yuan.
The Xia's front end adopts BYD's signature "Dragon Face" design language, featuring a bold front grille with a dragon-scale-armor-typed design and sleek LED headlights. Its side profile showcases a rising and full-length waistline. At the rear, a standout feature is the taillights, which is inspired by Chinese knot. The Xia includes AR projection-activated sliding doors and tailgate.
The model offers four color schemes: Mountain Green, Kiln Purple, Porcelain White, and Sky Black.
As for size, the Xia measures 5,145 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, and 1,805 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,045 mm.
Inside, the Xia is equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch passenger-side entertainment screen, and a 15.6-inch rear cinema display. It runs on the BYD DiLink 150 smart cockpit system, supporting triple-screen interaction, multi-vehicle connectivity, AI-powered voice commands, and gaming. The interior is available in two color options: Brown-Beige and Mountain Gray.
The Xia offers a streaming digital rearview mirror, in-car ETC, an electric sunroof above the front row, and a panoramic sunroof. The vehicle also features privacy glass on the rear windows and windshield, a 128-color dynamic ambient light system, and a DiSound audio system incorporating 28 speakers and 32 independent audio channels.
Regarding intelligent features, the Xia comes standard with the DiPilot 100 intelligent driving assistance system across its entire lineup. With 29 sensors, the system enables lane centering, adaptive cruise control, lane-change assist, automated parking, and lane departure warning. The Xia also includes the DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system, enhancing ride comfort and stability.
As BYD's first mid-to-large MPV with the fifth-generation DM (dual mode) technology, the Xia features a PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) -dedicated 1.5T engine paired with the EHS200 electric hybrid system. The engine delivers a maximum output of 115 kW and peak torque of 225 N·m, while the electric motor provides a maximum power of 200 kW.
The Xia comes equipped with a Blade Battery pack offering two capacities options: 20.39 kWh and 36.6 kWh, enabling CLTC-rated battery-power-alone ranges of 100 km and 180 km, respectively. The vehicle offers a combined range of up to 1,060 km and a fuel efficiency as low as 5.3 L per 100 km.
