Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 7 (Pacific Time), Hesai Technology ("Hesai"), a global leader in LiDAR technology, officially launched its JT Series of mini hemispherical 3D LiDAR for robotics at the CES 2025, and announced that mass production and delivery to customers have already commenced.

The JT Series is a platform-based product specifically designed for robotics. It features Hesai's fourth-generation self-developed chip and offers an industry-leading 360° x 187° ultra-hemispherical field of view, enabling zero-blind-spot 3D perception. Despite its compact size, the JT can detect objects even at close range. Its small form factor allows it to be discreetly integrated into robots, supporting applications such as service robots, delivery robots, cleaning robots, and lawn-mowing robots.

The JT Series supports up to 256 channels, setting a new technical benchmark for miniature 3D LiDAR in robotics. Its horizontal scanning achieves a full 360° field of view, while its innovative optical module design delivers a vertical field of view of 187°, making it the widest in the global LiDAR industry.

According to the company, the JT Series' perception range is equivalent to 1.5 standard football fields, a 60% improvement over comparable products. Additionally, its minimum detection range of 0 meters ensures no blind spots, significantly enhancing robots' ability to navigate and identify obstacles.

The JT Series' dimensions are highly optimized, with a base diameter as small as 55mm—a 30% reduction compared to similar products—and its volume is reduced by 70%. Weighing just 200-250 grams, the JT is 47% lighter than competing products, making it easy to install and minimizing the load on robots, thus improving battery efficiency and operational endurance.

The JT Series offers multiple configurations, including 16-channel, 128-channel, and 256-channel options, delivering ultra-high-resolution environmental detail. It excels in generating precise 3D point cloud maps, essential for SLAM-based navigation and efficient robot operation.

Hesai added the product also boasts a low power consumption of 4.3W, which is 40% lower than competing products, ensuring stable performance even under intense heat or direct sunlight.

In addition, Hesai's pioneering waveform processing technology enables the JT to intelligently detect and filter 99.9% of noise from rain and fog, ensuring clear perception in adverse weather conditions. This feature allows robots to dynamically adjust their strategies, expanding the LiDAR's application scope and improving operational efficiency.

In December 2024 alone, Hesai delivered over 20,000 units of LiDAR for robotics, covering a wide range of applications, including mobile robots, delivery robots, cleaning robots, and lawn-mowing robots.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
