Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 6, Leapmotor officially released the 580 Long-Range version of the C16 all-electric SUV, introducing two variants priced at 172,800 yuan and 189,800 yuan, respectively. The new model primarily focuses on range improvements.

In terms of exterior design, the C16 580 Long-Range resembles its predecessor, featuring a sealed front design and a distinctive light strip. The side profile is accentuated by black side mirrors and dynamic multi-spoke wheels, giving it a sporty appearance. The rear design is square-shaped. Notably, the C16 580 Long-Range version incorporates AGS (Active Grille Shutters), which reduce drag and enhance overall range performance.

The interior follows Leapmotor's family-style design language with advanced tech features, including a 14.6-inch 2.5K floating central touchscreen and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. The model is powered by a Qualcomm 8295 chip and offers convenient elements such as wireless phone charging and cup holders in the auxiliary dashboard area.

On the power front, the C16 580 Long-Range version is equipped with a 215 kW motor delivering a maximum torque of 360 Nm. Its 74.93 kWh battery pack achieves a CLTC-rated range of 580 km, representing a significant improvement over the existing C16 variants.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
