Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 7, FAW Group's Hongqi brand officially put the Tiangong 08, an all-electric mid-to-large SUV model, onto the market, offering five trim levels priced between 239,800 yuan and 339,800 yuan.

Built on the Tiangong modular platform, the new SUV supports development of various vehicle types, including compact cars, large-sized sedans, SUVs, MPVs, and crossovers.

The Tiangong 08 adopts a brand-new design language, featuring distinctive "7-shaped" LED headlights and a dual-tone body. The rear follows the same "7-shaped" lighting design with a full-width taillight cluster.

The new model measures 4,925mm in length, 1,950mm in width, and 1,680mm in height, with a 3,000mm wheelbase. Its paint options are inspired by nature and celestial elements, including six colors: Far Mountain Purple, Cloud Creek White, Calm Sea Blue, Crescent Gray, Star River Silver, and Polar Night Black.

Inside, the Tiangong 08 adopts a fresh design, supporting CarPlay and equipped with a 256-color ambient lighting system. Front-row seats feature heating, ventilation, and massage functions (driver only). The vehicle also integrates an integrated two-screen setup, including a 6-inch dashboard and a 15.5-inch central touchscreen with optimized button placement and touch-sensitive light controls.

The Lingxi Smart Cockpit is equipped with an AI voice model featuring 13 billion cloud-based parameters, supporting functions like text-to-image generation and dialect recognition. It incorporates iFlytek's Smart TTS (text-to-speech) for highly natural and expressive voice synthesis.

The new SUV also offers Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), covering both urban and highway scenarios.

The Tiangong 08 is available with rear-wheel drive (single motor) or all-wheel drive (dual motors) configurations. The single motor produces up to 253 kW with 450 Nm of torque, while the dual motors deliver 455 kW with 756 Nm of torque. It comes with three battery options—75 kWh, 85 kWh, and 111 kWh—offering a CLTC range of 520km, 565km, 605km, 680km, and 730km, respectively. Charging from 10% to 80% of its battery capacity takes 20 or 25 minutes. The dual-motor version accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

The new model includes an air suspension system, which will support future OTA updates for the "Smart Magic Carpet" feature, allowing proactive road condition adjustments. It also features a rear-wheel steering system, with up to ±8° turning angles and a 5.3m turning radius, enabling reverse wheel turning at speeds below 60 km/h and same-direction turning above 60 km/h for enhanced maneuverability.
