Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On January 5, SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) announced that its 30 millionth complete vehicle, a Wuling Xingguang S, rolled off the production line, making it the first China's indigenous automaker to reach a cumulative production and sales volume of 30 million vehicles.

Among this achievement, new energy vehicles (NEVs) have played a pivotal role. By the end of 2024, the company had sold over 2.4 million NEVs, with sales reaching 800,000 units in 2024 alone, representing more than 50% of its overall annual sales and marking a year-on-year spike of 63%.

Robust growth in overseas markets has also contributed to this accomplishment. In 2024, the company exported 225,000 units/sets of complete vehicles and CKDs, bringing its cumulative exports to 1.158 million units/sets.

As for the overseas market, SGMW started producing its first model for Indonesia, the Confero, in 2017. Additionally, PT SGMW Motor Indonesia has established a complete vehicle factory and industrial park with an annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles. These operations have also spearheaded a transition to NEVs, attracting 17 Chinese component suppliers to invest in Indonesia and collaborating with over 50 local industry partners. Currently, SGMW offers three NEV models in Indonesia from the Air ev, the BinguoEV to the Cloud EV, targeting the IDR 200 million to 400 million (around RMB 100,000 to RMB 180,000) passenger vehicle segment.

Furthermore, SGMW's LIM (lean intelligent manufacturing) island-type factory was recognized as an "Auto Manufacturing Super Factory" by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center.
