Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 6, Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor and Qualcomm jointly announced an ongoing technical collaboration to equip Leapmotor's new globally-oriented vehicle models with advanced smart cockpit and intelligent driving technologies.

As part of the company's plans, three models in the Leapmotor B-series will be launched this year, with the Leapmotor B10 set for market release in the first quarter.

The newly unveiled Leapmotor B10 will feature Qualcomm's fourth-generation Snapdragon® cockpit platform and Snapdragon® intelligent driving platform. Notably, the B10 will be one of the first vehicles globally to integrate Qualcomm's Snapdragon® intelligent driving platform.

As the first globally-oriented model in Leapmotor's B-series, the B10 is built on the LEAP3.5 technology architecture. It will be equipped with Qualcomm's 8295 chipset, providing a customizable digital cockpit and advanced voice assistant features.

In terms of intelligent driving, the B10 will feature the Qualcomm 8650 driving chipset, combined with LiDAR technology, enabling advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and smart driving capabilities, including highway and urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot). The 8650 chipset delivers a processing power of 100 TOPS, ideal for developing mid- to high-tier intelligent driving solutions. In addition to Leapmotor, other smart driving suppliers such as Zhuoyu (previously known as DJI Automotive), Haomo.ai, and Momenta are also collaborating with Qualcomm on this chipset.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
