Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC Energy recently unveiled its first charging station dedicated to heavy-duty trucks, which is located in Guiping city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to a post on the company's WeChat account. This move marks the company's official entry into the heavy-duty truck energy replenishment market, ushering in a diversified energy development strategy.

Previously, GAC Energy unveiled its "Double Ten-Thousand Charging Piles Plan," set to add 10,000 DC charging terminals and 10,000 AC charging terminals in 2025. The operation of its heavy-duty truck charging station has injected fresh momentum into this initiative and carved out a new pathway for the expansion of its energy replenishment network.

The new charging station is equipped with four 360kW dual-port charging piles, each capable of delivering 180 kW per port and supporting simultaneous dual-port charging. These chargers with intelligent, compatible, safe, and user-friendly features can address the high-power energy needs of heavy-duty trucks.

On November 26, 2024, GAC Group unveiled its "135" development strategy for commercial vehicles, targeting annual revenue of 30 billion yuan by 2030. This strategy underscores the group's commitment to a comprehensive smart transformation in the commercial vehicle sector and the continuous expansion of its product lineup. Aligned with the group's strategic roadmap, GAC Energy has prioritized the deployment of energy infrastructure for heavy-duty trucks. Besides, GAC Energy aims to support the growth of commercial vehicles by expanding energy replenishment scenarios across mining, ports, logistics, and other sectors, while building a smart energy ecosystem.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
