Beijing (Gasgoo)- On January 5, Huawei's smart car alliance, Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, announced that cumulative fixed orders for the LUXEED R7 model surpassed 58,000 units within 100 days of its market launch. In December 2024 alone, the LUXEED R7 recorded sales of over 15,000 units.

On December 19, 2024, LUXEED expanded its R7 lineup by introducing two range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) variants alongside the four existing pure-electric versions. Priced between 249,800 yuan and 289,800 yuan, the new REEV variants lower the entry price by 10,000-yuan compared to the entry-level battery-electric vehicle (BEV) version. Deliveries of the R7 REEV commenced on January 5.

The R7 REEV mirrors the BEV version in design and dimensions, measuring 4,956mm in length, 1,981mm in width, and 1,634mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950mm. The entry-level model lacks LiDAR sensor, while the higher trim includes it.

Inside, the R7 REEV features a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel positioned far from the steering wheel to reduce glare. All models come equipped with ventilated, heated, and massaging seats, while the front passenger seat incorporates zero-gravity design. Electric sunshades, dual-layer acoustic and thermal insulating glass, and privacy glass for the rear are standard across the lineup.

The R7 REEV is powered by a 36.019kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, achieving a top speed of 200 km/h. It offers a battery-powered range of 195 km and 201 km and a combined CLTC range of up to 1,570 km.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
