Beijing (Gasgoo)- FAW Group's Hongqi brand recently announced its 2024 sales performance, reporting a total of 411,777 vehicles sold throughout the year, which represented a 17.4% year-on-year increase. 2024 marked the seventh consecutive year for Hongqi to realize a year-on-year growth in sales.

Hongqi's two main sales contributors, the H5 and HS5, logged cumulative sales exceeding1.1 million units in the past year.

Meanwhile, Hongqi's new energy vehicle (NEV) sector saw significant growth, with 115,000 units sold in 2024, indicating a 43.7% year-on-year surge, and establishing NEVs as a key driver of the brand's upward trajectory. Additionally, Hongqi sold 296,777 energy-efficient vehicles in the last year, which rose 9.6% from the previous year.

The brand also completed the delivery of 1,100 units of its premium JINKUIHUA ultra-luxury vehicle lineup, while establishing 31 new delivery and service centers.

In 2024, Hongqi introduced two innovative platforms—the Tiangong all-electric vehicle platform and the Jiuzhang intelligent platform. The Tiangong 08, a mid-to-large luxury electric SUV built on these platforms, is set to officially hit the market on January 7. The vehicle previously kicked off pre-sales at the Auto Guangzhou 2024, with prices starting at 239,800 yuan.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
