New Copper Ore Resources of Over 20 Million mt Discovered on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
According to the China Geological Survey under the Ministry of Natural Resources, China has achieved a major breakthrough in mineral exploration on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with the discovery of over 20 million mt of copper ore resources. It is reported that four copper ore resource bases with reserves exceeding 10 million mt each have been formed on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, namely Yulong, Duolong, Julong-Jiama, and Xiongcun-Junuo. The resource potential is estimated to reach 150 million mt, positioning the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau as a prospective world-class copper resource base. (CCTV News)
